President Donald Trump shared a tweet published by media figure Wayne Alyn Roth on the social network Truth Social, along with a link to a scathing editorial published in the New York Post against anti-Semitic media figure Tucker Carlson.
A tweet shared stated that Carlson "suffered from 'Jew Derangement Syndrome'" and that this led him "on a dark and destructive path.".
Roth also wrote that Carlson was "a conservative patriotic hero who ruined his life and committed professional suicide," adding: "I've never seen anything like it. Tragic.".
At the same time, Trump referred to the New York Post's editorial, titled: "Republicans should rejoice over Tucker Carlson's departure.".
The article claims that Carlson, once considered one of the most prominent figures in the conservative camp, has "wasted his talent on a strange and toxic agenda," and that he shows inexplicable sympathy for Russian President Vladimir Putin, is hostile to Israel, and is critical of the United States.
The article states that Carlson has become a "conspiracy theorist.".
It has also been claimed that his recent statements - including praise for Qatar, claims that the CIA tried to frame him as a foreign agent, and even questions about whether Trump is the "Antichrist" - illustrate his distancing himself from the Republican Party.
