Crime in Bnei Brak: A 16-year-old boy was attacked and stabbed during a street confrontation in Bnei Brak, and despite the police's recommendation to extend his detention, the court ordered his release.
The confrontation allegedly began after a fight between two boys on bicycles. When the father tried to pull him away from his son, the boy pulled out a knife and stabbed him. The father was moderately injured.
During an investigation conducted in the Dan area, the suspect confessed to the crime.
<The police claimed that he posed a danger and requested an extension of his detention. After the Magistrate's Court ordered his release, the police filed an appeal with the District Court.
However, Judge Limor Bibi rejected the appeal and ruled that the danger could be neutralized through an alternative to detention.
In her decision, she stated that she was impressed that this was a "normative family that was able to set clear boundaries for the suspect." Accordingly, she left the decision to release him in place.
