
In the attack in Samaria, IDF soldier Major Yuval Ezra, 27, from Herzliya, a battery commander in Battalion 411, the Artillery Corps' fire brigade, was killed.
Defense Minister Yisrael Katz paid tribute to those who fell in the attack in Samaria: "They were among the best sons of this country.".
He pledged: "We will bring the terrorists and those who sent them to account.".
The attack took place on the outskirts of the village of Tel during a hiking trip by a group of Israelis. The terrorist who carried out the attack, after stealing the weapon of one of the security forces members who were in the area, was eliminated, along with three members of his family.
The IDF will continue to carry out targeted counterterrorism activities in the area tonight.
