Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yisrael Katz today (Friday) instructed the IDF, after consulting with members of the small cabinet and heads of the defense establishment, on a series of steps following the terrorist attacks of the past 24 hours:
The joint statement said that "the Prime Minister and the Minister of Defense extend their condolences to the Melat family, whose son Benyahu was murdered this morning in the heinous attack, send a full recovery to the wounded, and strengthen the security forces and settlers in their firm stand against terrorism.".
The statement also said that "the Prime Minister and the Minister of Defense emphasize that the security forces must be allowed to act freely and with full force against terrorism, and to refrain from any action that could harm their activities or divert them from their central mission - protecting the citizens of Israel and defeating terrorism.".
