Defense Minister Yisrael Katz held a security consultation today (Thursday) with the participation of Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir, against the backdrop of the possibility of escalation with Iran.
The consultation was also attended by the Director General of the Ministry of Defense, Maj. Gen. Amir Baram, the Commander of the Air Force, the Head of the Operations Division, the Head of the Intelligence Division, the Head of the Planning and Force Building Division, the Commander of the Home Front Command, and other senior officials.
At the beginning of the consultation, Katz delivered a strong message towards Iran: "We are preparing for every possibility. If Iran attacks Israel, it will suffer a crushing blow.".
Western intelligence agencies estimate that Iran may be the first to launch an operation against Israel.
Political commentator Amit Segal wrote: "If there is another round against Iran, it will be different from what we have seen so far.".
