2026 elections: Gilad Erdan, the former minister and ambassador to the UN, is preparing to announce the establishment of a new right-wing party next week.
According to a report in Kan News, the party will present itself as a liberal right-wing party, which will call for the establishment of a broad Zionist government and promise not to join a narrow government with any party.
The party's ideological flagship theme is expected to be anti-Haredi: 'equality of burden' and the mobilization of the Haredi public, which will be led by Yuli Edelstein, who left the Likud and will be Erdan's number 2.
Erdan is also in advanced talks, among others, with former Beit Shemesh Mayor Aliza Bloch and with Shevut Raanan, one of the founders of the Reservists' Wives Forum.
On the other hand, Ayelet Shaked is not expected to join the party.
A union with Benny Gantz, although talks with him have taken place, is also not on the agenda - given Gantz's demand to lead the list.
In the coming days, Erdan will finish preparing the announcement of his party.
However, those around him say that he will actually announce it only if he is convinced that he has the necessary resources to succeed in the elections.
