N., an ultra-Orthodox man who was driving home to Safed, spoke today (Wednesday) with Yinon Magal and Ben Caspit on 103fm radio and told about the shocking story he experienced last week, when a soldier driving next to him pulled out a weapon and threatened him.
The story was revealed by Sherry Roth in Haredim 10.
""It happened last week," he said. "I'm driving on Highway 90. An IDF soldier, a regular soldier, is driving on my right, and he's signaling me to pull over. At the left turn to Rosh Pina there was a red light. I got out of the car, approached him, asked him if something happened. He's sitting with a gun, a cartridge in it, his finger on the trigger, pointing the gun at me and telling me: 'Get out of here, move, I'll shoot you.'.
""At first I thought he was joking," said N. "I said to him, 'Are you threatening me with a gun?' I quickly ran to the car. I don't have a smartphone, but I have a camera in the car. I turned it on. I came to him. And then his gun wasn't on him.".
From there, N. continued toward the nearby police station in Rosh Pina. "I stopped and had a panic attack there, they wanted to call an ambulance for me - I was really shaking there," N. said. "I filed a complaint against him, and then I also filed a complaint with the MPICH. I hope this matter will be handled by the police.".
After being asked if the army man said anything else to him during the confrontation, N. replied: "He threw out the word 'deserter,' and I didn't understand why he mentioned it. I told him in a footnote that I had served in the army. Even if I hadn't served in the army, it's forbidden to do such a thing to a person.".
""If it weren't for this current situation in Israel, I would have lowered my head and gone home, but I felt like my blood had been spilled," he claimed. "You're walking down the street, and someone points a gun at you. I was shocked. Since when do you point a gun at an Israeli citizen? This is unacceptable.".
