Chairman of the Foreign Affairs and Security Committee, MK Boaz Bismuth, participated today (Tuesday) in the Katif Conference for National Responsibility held in Yad Binyamin on the 21st anniversary of the displacement from Gush Katif.

Bismuth said: "This conference is important because it shows the hypocrisy of the times. They say we are messianic when we talk about population transfer, but who originally came up with this idea? Golda Meir. If Golda were to be raised from her grave today, she would vote for Likud and vote for the right.".

On the partnership with the US and the strength of the IDF: ""The US is our biggest partner, and we have nothing to be ashamed of - believe me, they look at us with admiration. What we learned on October 8 is that we have the strongest army in the world. There are things that our army knows how to do that even the Americans can't do, and they are filled with admiration for Israel's capabilities. The best things are yet ahead of us.".

Cession of territories and settlement in Judea and Samaria? ""I have not seen any country in the world that gives up territory and land. In our case, giving up territory is suicide - and therefore if we have to settle, we will settle. Our country is a state of law, and the law allows the army to protect the citizens. Today's pioneers, who are on the farms, need to be strengthened.".
