Police officers at the Kiryat Gat police station opened an investigation over the weekend after receiving a report of a break-in at three apartments in a senior housing complex in the city and the theft of property from the residents, including mobile phones and cash.
Upon receiving the report, the station's investigators and detectives acted quickly to collect findings and evidence, and as part of the investigation, they were able to trace the suspect's identity and arrest her.
According to suspicion, the suspect entered the assisted living complex and broke into three apartments of elderly residents, some of whom are Holocaust survivors, and stole personal property from them.
The suspect was taken for questioning at the Kiryat Gat police station, and was subsequently imprisoned. Her detention was extended in court in accordance with the needs of the investigation, which is still ongoing.

Shai Elli: "This is a serious incident in which, according to suspicion, elderly citizens, some of whom are Holocaust survivors, were injured in a place that is supposed to provide them with security and a sense of protection. The police officers at the station acted quickly and decisively, using all the means at their disposal, and led to the location of the suspect and her arrest in a short time. We will continue to act without compromise against property criminals who harm vulnerable populations and will bring them to justice.".
