MK Tali Gottlieb of the Likud addressed reports today (Tuesday) in an interview with Gadi Ness on Radio North 104.5FM that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is interested in establishing a coordinating committee within the party - and clarified that the Likud list for the next Knesset will be determined in the primaries.
""There will be no Likud organizing committee, there will be primaries," Gottlieb stated. "I've been telling you this for a month now. The prime minister wants primaries and insists on it. Likud, unlike the other parties, is a democratic party in which the voters decide. It's a ruling party, not a party of atmosphere. An organizing committee is an urban legend.".
Gottlieb later attacked Naftali Bennett: "Bennett will continue to blabber and talk himself into it. Every word he says reminds us what a crook he is and what a leftist he is.".
She slammed him: "There's one thing you're great at, and that's megalomania. You're a great megalomaniac. You've trampled on the trust of your electorate with a rude foot.".
Gottlieb also pointed an accusing finger at the legal system and at former Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi. "I saw the video of the Chief of Staff telling how, in a built-up combat area, they go from room to room, being careful of clashes and putting themselves at risk. What kind of statement is this, that you are endangering your soldiers? Before I am interested in international law, I am interested in Jewish law. He who shows mercy to the cruel will ultimately become cruel to the merciful.".
Gottlieb continued her criticism of the Supreme Court, claiming that the government itself bears responsibility for the High Court's interference in military issues. "The High Court is to blame. We are generally to blame for the High Court allowing itself to interfere in military, diplomatic and political matters.".
According to her, "In the Basic Law: Judiciary, there is an unknown clause, which states that the High Court is authorized to grant relief from justice. The High Court has given this clause meaning, intervened in military matters and jeopardized the security of the State of Israel.".
Gottlieb addressed her political future and made it clear that she intends to remain in the Likud.
""I am a right-winger in Likud," she said. "If there is not a strong, right-wing ruling party, we, God forbid, will accept a Palestinian state on our heads. The Nation-State Law will be repealed, the Law of Return will be repealed.".
