The chairman of Religious Zionism, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, addressed the campaign between the United States and Iran this morning (Tuesday) at the 'Katif Conference for National Responsibility' - and said: "Israel has no interest in joining the campaign - the current situation is the best for us.".
Smotrich added: "We must remember that the ultimate goal of Israel, and not necessarily the United States, is to undermine and weaken the regime in Iran - to the point of overthrowing it.".
He noted that the best way to reach this goal is by crushing the Iranian economy: "Currently, inflation in Iran is at 85 percent, food inflation of over 134 percent in a total of 4 months, and the Iranian rial is trading at a rate of 1.9 million to the dollar - and it's going up.".
Smotrich emphasized: "The current situation is good for us, and there is no point in pushing ourselves inward.".
The minister added: "Yes, it should be said that we are prepared for any scenario. The IDF is on alert, and if the Iranians make the mistake and fire at us, then they will of course regret it and mount a very strong, determined and powerful response. We are one step away from a decision by a political echelon to send the Air Force on a Saturday trip, an afternoon trip, in the skies of Iran with complete freedom of action, with attack capabilities.".
He continued his remarks by referring to the attacks heard against Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir and said: "I strongly object to the abusive words that have been heard against him recently. Unfortunately, also against people who are defined in our camp. I would like to say a big thank you to the Chief of Staff, the IDF commanders, its fighters, the pilots, the intelligence personnel. We have the best people in the world.".
