Against the backdrop of the expansion of military police enforcement activities, the organization clarifies that any student aged 18 or over who has not regularized his status and has passed the designated draft date is defined in the security services as a "defector.".
Because of this, the 'Yeshiva Committee' calls on young men to exercise extreme caution and completely avoid arriving at Ben-Gurion Airport, land border crossings, or other official checkpoints - as attempting to leave the country without prior status regulation entails a high risk of delay and immediate arrest on the spot.
The document details a series of practical guidelines for dealing with the wave of arrests:
Students who did not report to the first or subsequent summonses are urged to check in advance whether a stay order has been imposed against them, even if their official enlistment date has not yet arrived.
A special warning was also issued to "sons of immigrants" - Israeli citizens living abroad and studying in yeshivahs in Israel, whose failure to regularize their status in a timely manner could entangle them legally.
In the event of arrest by the military police, the committee instructed to immediately notify the family and demand representation by a lawyer specializing in military law, from the very beginning of the procedure.
In parallel with the legal warnings, the committee calls on the students to maintain careful behavior in public spaces during the vacation, to avoid unnecessary friction, and to continue learning in designated frameworks established for the summer period.
