A serious incident that occurred about two weeks ago on the Syrian border almost ended in disaster.

According to a report this evening (Monday) in 'Kan News', IDF observers identified five suspects at night near the border, not far from the Hermon area, and the IDF defined the incident as an immediate threat, fearing that it was a terrorist cell attempting to infiltrate Israeli territory.

According to the report, "Zik" aircraft were flown to the scene, preparing to carry out an air attack against the suspects.

Only moments before the attack, the observers noticed that the suspects were wearing wigs, and as a result, the attack was stopped.

Shortly thereafter, a situation assessment was conducted in Division 210, at the end of which it became clear that these were activists from the "Pioneers of Bashan" movement - a movement that seeks to establish a Jewish settlement in Syrian territory, with its activists repeatedly entering the area in violation of the law.

The IDF confirmed the details of the incident: "The IDF strongly condemns the incident, which is added to previous incidents of this type. The IDF expects law enforcement agencies to bring those involved to justice and to act decisively against this phenomenon.""
