The United States State Department announced today (Monday) the beginning of the Israeli withdrawal from the pilot areas in Lebanon in the villages of Peron, Serifa, and Zuthar al-Arabiya.
This is in accordance with the framework agreement between Israel, Lebanon and the United States.
The State Department statement said: "This milestone is a direct result of the talks that took place between Lebanon and Israel last week in Rome. The United States will continue to work with both sides to implement the framework agreement.".
Kan News reported that the IDF is expected to transfer concrete information to Lebanon about terrorist infrastructures that it has not yet dealt with, and that the Lebanese army will be responsible for destroying them.
This is a very small number of infrastructures.
Israel is concerned about the question of whether the Lebanese army will be ready and prepared to confront Hezbollah once the pilot is underway.
