Sometimes the most exciting stories begin in the middle of a normal workday: During their work in the Shiloh area, employees of the Shefa Department in the Binyamin Council found a lost parrot.
Instead of moving on, they decided to stop everything, collect it, and start a small operation to find its owner.
The employees of the Department of Supervision and Environmental Quality who found the parrot activated Binyamin's community network, posted announcements in the locality groups, contacted the locality secretaries and other parties in the area, until finally the long-awaited call was received.
The owners identified the parrot by the signs they gave, and only then did it become clear that it belonged to people with special needs from Shiloh, for whom its disappearance was particularly significant - and after several days of worry and searching, they were reunited with their beloved parrot.
Amir Bohbot, director of the council's Environmental Quality and Supervision Department, described the moment the owners were located: "They called me, gave me the signs, and I realized that it was really their parrot. You don't understand the excitement in their voices.
""In the meantime, I sat with the parrot, babysat for him, bought him food, grapes, told him that the owners were on their way... and then they arrived and were really happy to see their lost parrot. Thank God, we did some acts of kindness.".
