The arson terror broadcast live: Residents of Ma'ale Tidhar Hill, located near the settlement of Mitsad in Gush Etzion, identified near the beginning of Shabbat a suspicious figure who had come out of the nearby village of Sa'ir - and was busy with the dry vegetation.
A drone sent to the scene by the security officer recorded in real time the Arabiya as she lit a row of fires and tried to ignite the fire that would spread towards the hill.
The Arab, who came out of one of the houses in the Hamrush neighborhood of the village, grabbed a burning rag and lit one fire after another - while throwing additional dry thorns into the fire and trying to make it blend in with the wind towards the hill.
When she realized she had been recognized, the Arab woman fled back to the village.
Residents rushed to the scene, called security forces, and extinguished the fire before it could spread. There have been no reports of her arrest or the arrest of additional suspects.
""Just two weeks ago, we were able to provide thermal drones to Ma'aleh Tidhar and other hills to guard the area, and already last weekend, residents used them to thwart an arson attack in real time," said today the Front Hills Administration - an organization that unites a number of hills in Judea and Samaria.
The organization emphasized: "Without the drone's documentation, there would still be someone in the security establishment who would claim that this was not intentional arson, but it has once again been proven that this is terrorism for all intents and purposes. Last Saturday, an entire settlement went up in flames, and only by a miracle did the fire not claim human lives. The security establishment must wake up and address the threat of arson with all seriousness.".
