Three young men - two brothers from Jaffa and a friend from Bat Yam, in their 20s - were arrested this evening (Saturday night) after they allegedly rioted on a foreign airline plane that was preparing for takeoff at Ben Gurion Airport, refused to obey the instructions of the air crew - and attacked police officers who were called to the scene.
Four police officers were injured during the incident. The police accuse the suspects of assaulting police officers and obstructing their activities.
According to the police statement, the plane's crew reported three passengers who were rioting, raising concerns for the safety of the passengers and the flight crew, and defined them as potentially posing a danger during the flight.
Following the report, Ben Gurion Airport police boarded the plane in an attempt to take the suspects off the plane, but they refused to cooperate.
During the arrest, a confrontation developed, during which, according to the police, the suspects attacked the police officers, bit some of them, and cursed at them, and therefore the police officers were forced to use reasonable force to make the arrest.
Four police officers who were injured in the incident were evacuated for medical treatment. It was also reported that during the incident, one of the suspects said to the policewoman: "I wish October 7th would happen to you.".
The suspects were released to house arrest this evening, despite the police's request to extend their detention by 9 days.
