
Israel Police opened an investigation this afternoon (Thursday) following the discovery of a human skull in the Lifta area - at the entrance to Jerusalem.
The investigation was opened after the police hotline received a report from a citizen who found what were suspected to be human bones in one of the caves in the Lifta Forest area.
Police from the Lev Habira police station and investigators from the Metropolitan Police Department quickly arrived at the scene, sealed off the scene and opened a preliminary investigation to clarify the circumstances of the incident.
