After being captured last weekend by the Neve Daniel community police and IDF forces: a 16-year-old terrorist admitted during his interrogation at the Etzion station that he planned to harm an Israeli soldier - and end his life as a martyr.
His investigation continues.
Last Saturday night, a report was received of a 16-year-old Palestinian attempting to infiltrate the Neve Daniel settlement in Gush Etzion, where he was apprehended by the settlement's police chief and military forces. When arrested, he claimed to be looking for water to quench his thirst.
In the past 24 hours, during his interrogation, the suspect, a 16.5-year-old resident of Nahalin, broke down and said that he intended to harm an IDF soldier who happened to be in his path, out of a desire to die a martyr, and that before leaving, he kissed his mother's hand.
As part of the investigation, last night the suspect led his investigators from Etzion Station along the route he took on Saturday, from his place of residence to the Israeli settlement, and pointed out the location where he had hidden the knife.
During a search of the area, under a metal bench, a kitchen knife several centimeters long was found, which he had taken from the kitchen of his home.
At the end, the suspect was imprisoned and the police intend to request an extension of his detention in order to complete the investigation and bring him to justice.
