Diaspora Minister Amichai Shikli responded this morning (Monday) to Gadi Eisenkot's strengthening in the polls - saying: "He is a worthy political opponent, but he is a strictly leftist, clearly, to the extreme.".
Shikli added that Eisenkot "just said at the INSS conference that he sees in Joulani, an al-Qaeda man who took over Syria with extremely brutal violence, that he sees an opportunity. How exactly do you see Joulani as an opportunity? How is he already talking about withdrawing from the Yellow Line in Gaza and the Yellow Line in Lebanon. Let's imagine him for a moment on the UN stage, let's imagine him in political meetings. What experience does he have? Zero political experience, and what law did he pass?""
Shikley compared Eisenkot to Bennett, and said that he prefers him to the former head of Yamina - whom he described as "corrupt, a crook and a bad person": "I went through with him when we said, 'We are a right-wing party, we are going to form a right-wing government, we will not allow Lapid to be prime minister.'.

He accused: "What does it mean to take the premiership with six seats? This is ridiculous. What will any coalition negotiations look like afterwards when every head of a tiny party thinks he can ask for any position he wants and you don't have the stability of a ruling party at all.".
Minister Shikley continued to attack Bennett: "The damage he caused with his act of deceit, fraud and fraud is unprecedented damage to the State of Israel, unprecedented damage to Israeli democracy.".
