The date of the elections for the 26th Knesset has been set: The State of Israel will march to the polls on October 27th - the original date set for the elections.
These are the first elections to be held on time in 38 years and the first government to serve in office in 53 years.
The decision to hold the elections on this date - in 107 days - was made after the coalition sought to promote the dissolution of the Knesset within five days and hold the elections on time.
This is in light of the Knesset not going into an election recess until July 17th.
The closing of the lists for the Knesset is expected more than a month and a half before the elections - on September 9, so the parties now have about 57 days to prepare and refresh their ranks.
