The young man Ziv Moshe Shulman, 17, a Chabad yeshiva student from Rehovot, died today (Tuesday) at the Kaplan Medical Center, after collapsing the day before yesterday in the yeshiva courtyard on Hasem Street in the city.
Rescue forces called to the scene found him without a pulse and not breathing, and immediately began life-saving operations, which included chest compressions and administering electric shocks using a defibrillator - until the pulse returned.
He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, where doctors fought for his life. Many prayed for his recovery, but to the dismay of his family, acquaintances, and the entire community, he passed away.
The late Ziv Moshe is the son of Rabbi Eyal and his wife Shulman, from the Chabad community in Rehovot.
His friends say that "he dedicated his life and energy to studying Torah diligently and persistently and to being active in the Rebbe's operations. He was loved by his friends and acquaintances.".
His funeral left this evening at 10:00 PM from the yeshiva building in Rehovot, via the central Chabad synagogue on 1 Chabad Street - and from there to the cemetery on Gordsky Street, where he will be buried.
