The Israeli Consulate in New York was evacuated this morning (Tuesday) due to fears of the collapse of a nearby skyscraper located on Second Avenue in Manhattan.
The evacuation was carried out at the behest of the New York Police Department and the city's firefighters, who acted quickly and decisively to ensure the safety of the workers.
The Consul General in New York, Ofir Akunis, said that he spoke with all relevant parties and thanked them for their work.
""I have instructed the professional staff at the consulate, which is the largest Israeli representation in the world, to provide, if necessary, an alternative in order to continue maintaining a work routine as quickly as possible, and in the process, all consular services.".
