Coming soon on channels 11, 12 and 13? Hungary's state television announced today (Tuesday) the temporary suspension of its news broadcast due to the new government's directive - and its moves towards comprehensive changes in public broadcasting.
The main channel of state television - M1, displayed a black screen with a message on the subject, shortly after the new government headed by Peter Medyaer replaced the state television and radio managements.
The message on the screen read: "Public broadcasting cannot lie. We apologize for having done so for many years despite everything. Public broadcasting is currently undergoing a transformation, so that in the future it will be independent and reliable. News broadcasts have been temporarily suspended. Stay with us.".
Prime Minister Magyar wrote on his X account: "This is a historic day. Today, the propaganda broadcasts in Hungary's public media have finally come to an end. They lied at night, they lied during the day, they lied on every channel. Now it's over.".
