Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar said that Hamas' willingness to "make room" for a technocratic government was intended, he said, to prevent the organization from disarming.
Sa'ar added that Israel insists on implementing the Trump plan literally, which centers on disarming Hamas and other terrorist organizations and demilitarizing the Gaza Strip.
The Foreign Minister wrote on his X account: "Hamas' maneuver is simple - the willingness to 'make room' for the technocratic government is intended to prevent Hamas from being dismantled by its own accord.
""Hamas wants a 'Hezbollah model' in Gaza: the technocratic committee will be responsible for garbage collection and municipal services, and Hamas will remain the dominant military force. With the weapons in Hamas' hands, the civilian government will of course act according to its dictates.".
""This way, Hamas can continue its oppression of the Palestinians in Gaza and its jihad war against Israel.".
