Independence Day celebrations and the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States: The Knesset building was lit up this evening (Saturday night) in blue, red, and white - the colors of the US flag.

In addition, over the past week, films and photographs from visits by US presidents over the years, heads of the House of Representatives, and other figures in the Knesset were displayed at the entrances to the Mishkan.

Knesset Speaker, MK Amir Ohana, congratulated: "Today, the free world marks a truly historic event: 250 years since the founding of the United States of America. In one of the greatest achievements in human history, America's founding fathers established the first great modern republic, a beacon of freedom, which continues to guide humanity to the values ​​of freedom and human dignity.".
