The suspect in the murder of Kabbalist Rabbi Amos Guetta, head of the 'Rabbi Yitzhak Chai Taiv' yeshiva in Netanya, confessed today (Wednesday) during his police interrogation to committing the terrible act.

According to a report on Channel 12, in the coming days he is expected to be sent for a psychiatric examination as part of the ongoing proceedings in his case.

During the interrogation, one of the investigators asked him: "Why did you do that?" - and the suspect pointed to the sky.

When asked, "What, God?", he nodded in the affirmative.

The investigator then asked: "What did you do to the rabbi?" - The suspect looked at the investigator and made a stabbing motion. He then demonstrated with a hand movement a stab with a knife towards his throat.

The stabbing took place in the seminary of Rabbi Amos zt"l. The suspect, who was one of his followers, confronted associates for wanting to get close to him and suddenly pulled out a knife, stabbed him four times - and fled. According to a report in "Maku," Rabbi Amos zt"l was murdered while he was confined to his bed.

A guard who tried to stop the attacker and prevent him from continuing the stabbings was also injured during the incident.

The suspect fled the scene to the mikvah. After a manhunt that lasted about two hours, he was arrested in central Netanya.

The suspect's detention was extended by eight days.

Attorney Ran Alon, who represents the suspect in the murder of Rabbi Amos Guetta in Netanya on behalf of the public defender's office, told 'MAKO': "In light of the impression of the suspect's mental state, the court accepted our request to refer him for an urgent psychiatric examination. Now we must wait for the results of the opinion.".
