The State Attorney's Office filed an indictment with the Beer Sheva District Court against Osher Peretz, 22, of Dimona, after he made an improvised explosive device and placed it in an Ashkelon playground.
The indictment filed by Attorney Hila Malul of the Southern District Attorney's Office indicates that at an unknown date and before November 2025, Peretz manufactured an improvised explosive device from a metal tube containing explosives, to which he attached initiation and activation means, as well as metal screws intended to increase the force of the impact.
According to the indictment, this is an explosive device that has the potential to harm a person.
Several months ago, the bomb was found in a bush, near an Ashkelon playground. Following the report, a police sapper was called to the scene, who neutralized the bomb and dismantled it.
In a request to extend restrictive conditions submitted at the same time, Attorney Malul noted: "The seriousness of his actions and his dangerousness are heightened in light of the fact that the explosive device was found in an amusement park, which could have led to mass harm, including harm to children.""
Peretz was charged with the offenses of manufacturing weapons, possession of weapons, and preparation of a crime with dangerous substances.
