After the Shas faction's disavowal of the statements made by Rabbi Aryeh Yazdi, head of the 'Beit Abba' kollel in Bnei Brak, against Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir at a protest rally by the Sephardic public against the draft decrees, which took place last night in the city of Torah and Hasidism - the elder of Shas' Council of Torah Sages is also publishing a 'statement of opinion'.
In a special 'disclosure' letter, Rabbi Maya comes out against the extremist statements heard at the rally.
And so he wrote:
''Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.' I was very sorry to hear the words spoken against the Chief of Staff at the important rally held last night in protest of the denigration of Torah scholars.
This is not the way of the Torah to express itself in this way.
We customarily pray at every Torah scroll release, Shabbat and weekdays, for the success of the soldiers who give their lives for the well-being of the Jewish people.
The writer and signer in honor of Torah and its works and with great respect for the soldiers
"The Tzvi, Moshe Maya"
