Senior officials from the Intelligence Division and the Southern Command last week conveyed a warning to Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir, stating that Hamas' military wing is re-preparing for war.

According to a report this evening (Sunday) by Itai Blumenthal and Elior Levy on 'Kan News', the senior officials claimed that Hamas produces hundreds of explosive devices and anti-tank missiles every month, recruits terrorists aged 18 to 22 - and recently began training Nuhba terrorists.

In addition, the terrorist organization is trying to smuggle drones and communication equipment out of Sinai and is restoring underground infrastructure throughout the Strip.

According to the report, officers in the Intelligence Branch and Southern Command told the Chief of Staff: "Hamas is strong on the ground, no one threatens it, and the organization is not willing to give up control of Gaza.".

The IDF's position, which was conveyed to the Americans, is that fighting should resume, but Washington opposes it and wants to remain in the situation created by the agreement - while wanting to continue realizing the vision of President Trump and the Peace Council.

Last Friday, a huge demonstration against Hamas was supposed to be held in the Gaza Strip, but no one showed up - because Hamas had deployed armed men throughout the Strip.

According to the report, security officials are warning and raising 'red flags' in response to the development, but currently there is an American veto.

The conditions set by Hamas

It was also reported this evening on 'Kan News' that on June 10, a senior Hamas delegation led by Musa Abu Marzouk met in Moscow with senior Russian government officials.

A Palestinian source familiar with the details of the meeting said that the main discussions revolved around Article 8 of the roadmap, which deals with the evacuation and storage of weapons in the Gaza Strip - that is, the article on disarming Hamas.

According to the source, Hamas expressed agreement in principle to the clause, but conditioned it on strict amendments:

  1. Implementation on the ground will be the sole responsibility of the "Gaza National Management Committee." As you may recall, this is a joint Palestinian body.
  2. The International Stabilization Force will operate only in direct coordination with the factions.
  3. Absolute guarantees that no weapons evacuated will be handed over to Israel or an external party.
