On the way to national politics? Dr. Aliza Bloch, former mayor of Beit Shemesh, officially signals her intention to integrate into the national arena.
According to a report by Dafna Liel on Channel 12, Bloch recently informed the management of the Israel Center for Excellence (YASA) of the termination of her position as president of the institution.
According to insiders, Bloch is in the midst of intensive contacts with a long list of existing political platforms and organizations, while at the same time seriously considering the alternative of running independently at the head of a party with a social agenda.
None of the parties represented in the Knesset currently has a woman at the head.
In her letter, Bloch thanked the chairman of the YASA executive committee, signing off with a message that is more appropriate than any opening shot of an election campaign: "I am officially ending my position, but not really saying goodbye... I am embarking on a new path with a commitment to continue believing with all my heart that quality education is the key to a healthy and quality society and a better Israel.".
