Smotrich: Don't pay attention to the left-wing media's black vision, they are trying to sow despair and despondency

A member of the limited cabinet, Religious Zionist Chairman Bezalel Smotrich, published an appeal to reservists this evening (Saturday), praising their contribution to the war - and claiming that the right-wing government has led to a significant improvement in Israel's security situation.

""My beloved reservist brothers!

Your hundreds of days of reserve duty, the sacrifice and dedication of your families, are changing the Middle East. No less.

For decades, we have been accustomed to retreats for a piece of paper, to bowing to international pressure, and to surrendering to terrorism. For decades, they have sent you to fight and then texted your achievements with a "final diplomatic leg" of surrender and retreats.

Our right-wing government has changed our perception of security and our statesmanship. Here is an interim summary of the results of your heroism and our proper management of the war in all arenas:

1. The IDF controls a 70% security strip of the Gaza Strip and has destroyed the terror infrastructure there above and below ground. Hamas has not yet been eliminated, but it has been severely beaten, and there is an international commitment to its elimination, a determination that there will be no reconstruction without denuclearization, and legitimacy for Israel to do so and remain in the security strip at least until then.
2. The IDF controls a security strip in Lebanon and is deepening the destruction of infrastructure throughout its length and breadth, above and below ground. Hezbollah has not yet been eliminated, but it has been severely beaten, and there is an international commitment to its elimination and legitimacy for Israeli freedom of action to thwart threats and prevent its intensification and remain in the security strip, at least until then.
3. The security and sense of security of residents of the North and South are immeasurably better than they were on the eve of the war.
4. Iran is much weaker than it was on the eve of the war - militarily, politically, and economically, and is being pushed out of its involvement in the Middle East.
5. Our enemies in all arenas are much weaker and we are much stronger.

We have not yet reached peace and quiet. But after decades of conception, weakness, and containment, our right-wing government changed the concept of security, and as a result, God willing and with His help, we have dramatically improved our security and strength.

Pay no attention to the frustration and bleak outlook of the left-wing and opposition media. They must criticize even when there is nothing to criticize and try to sow despair and despondency for political reasons.

We will continue, with God's help and your help, to strengthen Israel's security for generations.
