A 39-year-old man was found dead this morning (Friday) at the entrance to a residential building on Yitzhak Shamir Street in Givat Shmuel.
After the dedicated care of ZAKA volunteers at the scene alongside the MAZPF forces, his body was transferred to the National Institute of Forensic Medicine in Abu Kabir.
With the rapid action of the rabbi of the Institute of Forensic Medicine, Rabbi Asher Landau, together with the ZAKA legal department, all the necessary procedures were completed, and the body of the deceased was released for burial before the start of Shabbat.
A ZAKA ambulance transports the deceased from the institute to the Yarkon Cemetery, Petah Tikva Gate, where the funeral will be held at 4:30 PM.
Michael Gutwin, coordinator of the legal department at ZAKA, said: "We received a request from the family of the deceased requesting assistance in releasing his body for burial before the start of Shabbat. Immediately upon receiving the request, we worked together with the rabbi of the Institute of Forensic Medicine, Rabbi Asher Landau, with the institute and all relevant parties to expedite the proceedings.
""After completing all the necessary tests, we were able to have the body of the deceased released for burial before the start of Shabbat, and his funeral is expected to take place in the near future. For us, it is a great privilege to assist in fulfilling the commandment of honoring the dead and bringing the deceased to a Jewish grave before the Holy Sabbath.""
