An agitated and violent man blocked and hit a vehicle participating in a convoy of vehicles on Highway 7 this afternoon (Wednesday), smashing the vehicle's window - and even threatening to harm the passengers.
According to filmed testimony from the car's passengers, the man tried to hit the driver of the car, who quickly closed the window - and as a result, the window shattered.
""The incident was filmed and its details will be passed on to the police," the protest headquarters says.
The headquarters added: "We demand firm action against any violent factor that would harm the right of the ultra-Orthodox public to protest.".
An attack also took place on the Ayalon Highway: A drunk truck driver got out of his vehicle in the middle of the Ayalon Highway and charged toward one of the "vehicle protest" vehicles that had left Bnei Brak, armed with a knife and sticks.
The attacker was not content with threats, but began brutally beating the vehicle and knocking violently on the windows in front of the terrified passengers who felt immediate danger, but maintained restraint in accordance with the instructions.
According to the protest's press release, "The shocked passengers called the police hotline in real time, and we sincerely hope that law enforcement agencies are acting on the issue at this moment and stop the violent attacker immediately.".
In another case of violence against protest participants, Deputy Mayor of Beitar Illit Gedalyahu Eisenstein was attacked with severe violence during a protest convoy from Beitar Illit.
Testimony from those present at the scene indicates that an incited man crashed his vehicle, then began to violently strangle Segara.
""We call on the police to stop harassing the legitimate protest of the Haredi public and to begin acting with the full severity of the law against the violence directed against the participants in the peaceful and legal protest," the protest headquarters says.
