History in Northern Samaria: A few months after the return of settlement to the settlement of Sha-Nur, the Samaria Regional Council today (Wednesday) erected the first kindergarten building.
The construction of the structure, with the assistance of the Ministry of Education, the council, the settlement and donations, marks a historic and exciting closing of a circle: it takes place exactly 21 years after the original kindergarten in the settlement was closed and evacuated as part of the expulsion from northern Samaria.
The new kindergarten will begin operating in the upcoming school year for the children of the families who have already moved to the area, and those who will join them later.
Alongside the first building, many more educational institutions are expected to be established as part of the vision to establish 18 new settlements in northern Samaria as part of the "Connection Plan" of the Samaria Regional Council.
Representatives of the excited families and children of the settlement, along with the head of the Samaria Regional Council, Yossi Dagan, who himself was expelled from the settlement and returned to live there, assisted the workers in placing the structure.
Yossi Dagan blessed the name and kingdom "that we revived and sustained and reached this time" - and told the children with excitement: "You are now making history! We are now returning the first kindergarten to Sha-Nur after 21 years. And you are privileged to be part of the correction of the history of the people of Israel. 21 years of struggles for this people, for this land of all of us, for this country, we are in the process of historically correcting this terrible thing. The end of justice is coming, even if it takes 21 years, it is coming. This is the first kindergarten this year out of many that will arrive in the new settlements being established in northern Samaria.".
Adi Gelbard, who moved with her family to live in the settlement, also shared with excitement: "I am very happy and excited. All of us here are happy for the great privilege of being able to enroll children here, with God's help, in kindergarten on September 1st. To see children here, also in daycare, with God's help, playing and being happy. It is a great privilege for us to be partners and part of correcting this great injustice. This is the beginning.".
