Two of the three Israelis who were killed three days ago in the crash of a light plane in Maryland were brought to Israel tonight (Wednesday), and after completing the release procedures, they will be transferred to Ben Gurion Airport to continue the funeral and burial journey.
The deceased are David Rabinowitz, z"l, whose funeral will be held today at 4:00 PM at the Tel Regev Cemetery, and Yoav Bomerind, z"l, whose funeral will be held today at 6:00 PM at the Kerem Maharal Cemetery.
The third victim will be laid to rest in Toronto, Canada, in accordance with the wishes of his family.
Immediately after the crash, Yankee Landau, commander of the US ZAKA, worked at the crash site in the United States, along with volunteers from the "Metsalchim" organization, for long hours collecting all the findings and cleaning up the scene, along with Yossi Landau, the ZAKA Lachish area commander, who worked to advance the necessary procedures with the local authorities, until the deceased were released and flown for burial.
Michael Gutwin, coordinator of the legal department, and Yosef Haim Hauzi, deputy commander of Beit Shemesh, who are transporting the deceased, said: "After days of intensive activity at the crash scene in the United States, alongside the legal and logistical handling required to bring the deceased for burial, we are currently accompanying the coffins on their final journey.
