An unusual move: Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar announced today (Thursday) the severance of relations with Kaia Kallas - the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy of the European Union.
The move comes following a series of actions and statements by the senior European official, which, according to the Foreign Minister, continuously and unfairly harm the State of Israel.
Recently, during a visit to Mexico, Callas made a direct comparison between the State of Israel and the apartheid regime in South Africa.
Many elected officials across Europe disavowed the harsh words, but the European representative refused to apologize.
""The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy has been acting obsessively and shamefully dishonestly against the State of Israel for some time," Saar wrote on his X account. "It was recently widely reported that during her visit to Mexico she compared Israel to the racist apartheid regime that prevailed in South Africa, and so far she has refrained from any denial, response, or comment on her behalf regarding these matters.".
""Therefore, as the Foreign Minister of the State of Israel, I have no choice but to sever all ties with Mrs. Kallas, until she does not repeat the blood libel she inflicted on the only Jewish state, which is also the only democracy in the Middle East. And so I am doing.".
