
Rehovot police officers from the Central District arrested a city resident today (Tuesday) on suspicion of murdering his father in their apartment.
The police hotline received a report of a stabbing incident in an apartment in the city of Rehovot this afternoon. When police arrived at the scene, they found a man in his 80s dead, with stab wounds on his body.
Medical officials were forced to pronounce him dead at the scene.
Patrol officers arrested the victim's son, a city resident in his 40s, at the scene on suspicion of involvement in the act, and seized the knife that was suspected of being used to commit the crime.
ZAKA reported: Around 2:00 PM, a report was received at the ZAKA hotline about an 84-year-old man who was found lifeless in his home on Peki'in Street in Rehovot, and it is suspected that he was murdered by a family member.
MDA forces called to the scene were forced to confirm his death.
ZAKA volunteers from the Shefelah region are working to honor the deceased and collect the remains.
