Completely confused? US President Donald Trump today (Tuesday), during the G7 summit in Europe, criticized Israel's conduct in Lebanon.
""I consider the war in Lebanon a 'mini-war,'" the American president said. "Israel has been fighting Hezbollah for too long, and people have been killed. It can't just blow up an apartment building every time it looks for someone. If Israel can't do the job in Lebanon without killing everyone, maybe Syria should do it.".
Trump also criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. "I told Israel that I didn't like the attack in Beirut. I'm not disappointed in Netanyahu. I have a good relationship with Bibi, but now he needs to be more responsible with Lebanon. I don't like the way Israel is dealing with Hezbollah. Drones were fired at him and he dropped a bomb. It was too much, but our relationship is good.".
Regarding the war in Iran, he said: "I never cared about regime change in Iran, but assuming you accepted regime change, we are talking to very rational people.".
He repeatedly declared that without his intervention in everything related to Iran, Israel would not exist. "If it weren't for me, Israel would not exist today, and every sensible person in Israel knows that.".
He said, "We have a good agreement with Iran, it's a fair agreement. We are not investing any money in Iran. If Iran develops nuclear weapons or anything else, the gates of hell will open on them.".
Political commentator Amit Segal mocked Trump's words: "Netanyahu should act more responsibly in Lebanon, but he failed, so let's try the ISIS people who will enter there. Sounds like a model of cold logic and understanding of the terrain.".
