Arab affairs commentator Zvi Yehezkeli issued a stark warning today (Monday) following the political developments between the United States and Iran - defining them as a "truth warning" with far-reaching implications for Israel's security.
According to him, this is a significant strategic danger, which in his opinion is even more serious than the reality that prevailed on the eve of the last war.
Yehezkeli emphasized that every agreement in the Middle East must also be examined through the way it is perceived by the other side, and not just from the Western perspective.
""The first agreement in Islam, the Treaty of Hudaybiyah, is a fraudulent agreement," he explained. According to him, in the Middle East, agreements also have the meaning of benefit, achievement, and a perception of victory, and in Tehran, the latest developments are presented as proof of superiority over Israel and as an achievement of the Iranian regime.
He then referred to various publications by Pakistani sources, according to which the emerging outline includes economic relief for Iran, the release of frozen assets, the lifting of American sanctions, a regional ceasefire, and a demand for Israeli withdrawal from Lebanon, alongside allowing uranium and nuclear facilities on Iranian territory.
According to him, in the eyes of the Iranian regime, this is a realization of the concept of "justice," according to which those who fight Iran are required to pay a price and compensate for it.
""You are an infidel, you came to fight me, you will pay, you will compensate, you will apologize," he described the Iranian worldview.
Yehezkeli sharply criticized US President Donald Trump and claimed that the American administration is rushing to reach an agreement. "Trump rushed to reach an agreement, abandoned us, threw Israel, his partner in the war, and did enormous damage here.".
He said that while Iran continues to engage in the missile project and make statements against Israel, the demand directed at Israel is for a withdrawal from Lebanon, a move that he claims will strengthen the sense of victory in Tehran.
He emphasized that even if some of the publications do not accurately reflect the wording of the final agreement, the general direction is reminiscent of the nuclear agreement signed in 2015. "This is exactly the same agreement that the powers made in 2015," he claimed.
Yehezkeli called on the Israeli leadership not to accept the emerging reality and not to agree to restrictions on its security activities. "If Trump ties our hands, we are in trouble.".
He noted that Israel must maintain its decision-making independence in the face of threats in the region.
Ezekiel made a connection between the political developments and the period in the Hebrew calendar. "With the beginning of the month of Tammuz and towards the days of the Egyptians, the Straits of Hormuz are indeed opened, but other great Egyptians are coming upon us," he said.
He concluded with a warning to the Israeli public: "This is a true warning." According to him, Iran is emerging from the campaign with significant political and economic achievements, while the compensation it has provided for its part amounts to "promises and words.".
