The Supreme Planning Council approved 2,162 housing units in several central localities.
The approval was given in accordance with the policy of Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, who is working to deepen Israel's grip on the region and strengthen the settlement enterprise. As part of this morning's decision, detailed construction plans were approved that will allow for the expansion of existing settlements, alongside the development of a new urban settlement.
In the new urban settlement of Givaot - located in the heart of Gush Etzion and which was approved by the Cabinet in March 2025 - a city building plan for 1,006 housing units was approved - an approval that is expected to enable growth, development, and absorption of thousands of new residents in the area, alongside the planning of thousands of additional housing units that are currently being promoted in the area.
In the settlement of Har Bracha in Samaria, 922 housing units were approved for deposit, a move that increases the settlement three times its current size and is intended to address the high demand for housing in the area.
In the Kiryat Arba Local Council, 234 new housing units were approved for approval.
Minister of Finance: "We continue to build the Land of Israel in practice. The establishment of the urban settlement of Givot with thousands of housing units in the Gush Etzion bloc, the threefold increase in the Har Bracha settlement in Samaria, and hundreds of new housing units in Kiryat Arba, this is not just a planning move, but a national move that consolidates our hold on the territory, strengthens Israel's security, and establishes clear facts that prevent the establishment of an Arab terrorist state in the heart of the country.".
