Tragedy: Shaindel Herzberg, an 8-year-old girl, was run over and killed while riding her bicycle in the village of Pomona near Muncie.
Scheindel, A.H., was critically injured Tuesday evening after being hit by a vehicle while riding her bicycle on Tiffin Lane in Pomona.
Rockland County rescue volunteers, paramedics and emergency crews called to the scene began CPR, and she was taken to Nyack Hospital in critical condition.
Sadly, despite the tireless efforts of Hatzala volunteers, doctors, and hospital staff, she died from her injuries.
Volunteers from the organizations 'Matsakim', 'Chesed Shel Emet' and 'Friends' from Rockland worked to ensure the dignity of the deceased.
Scheindel is the daughter of Yudi and Chomi Herzberg, residents of the village of Pomona - most of whose residents are Haredi.
The funeral will be held today and she will be buried at the funeral home on Brick Church Street in Monsey.
