As part of the expansion of the weapons reform led by the Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir: 180 streets in the city of Eilat have been declared eligible for a personal weapons license.
The decision was made after staff work and a professional review by the Israel Police and the professionals in the Firearms Licensing and Supervision Division. Following the decision, Eilat residents - who live on eligible streets - will be able to apply for a firearms license, subject to meeting the criteria and conditions set forth in the law.
Eilat joins dozens of cities, towns, and regional councils across the country that have already been designated as areas eligible for weapons as part of the reform.
This is the 100th locality approved as part of the expansion of eligibility led by the minister.
Since the reform was expanded, over 260,000 citizens have already received a private firearm license - an unprecedented figure.
