
Yesterday (Tuesday), police officers at the Modi'in Illit station prevented the entry of 7 Palestinians into the country's territory in two different cases.
In the first case, a report was received at the police headquarters about an incident of assault and theft of a vehicle at a gas station near Route 443. Police officers from the Modi'in Illit station who were called to the scene met the complainant, who said that he had been attacked by several suspects, who threw stones at him, violently attacked him, stole his vehicle - and fled the scene.
Within a short time, the police were able to trace the identity of the main suspect - and he was arrested at the Maccabim crossing. During the inspection of the vehicle, the police were surprised to discover that in addition to the assault and theft of the vehicle, the suspect was also driving two illegal residents in the vehicle, who were located hiding in the trunk.
The suspect, a resident of East Jerusalem in his 20s, was arrested along with the two illegal residents, and they were taken for questioning at the police station.
In another case - following information provided by police officers from Modi'in Illit Station, five illegal residents were arrested at the Maccabim Crossing, hiding under the back seat of a vehicle and in the trunk.
The driver, a resident of Ness Ziona in his 30s, along with five illegal residents, were taken to the police station for questioning.
