Two people were killed and seven others were injured in a car accident tonight (Friday night), around 12:40 AM, between a minibus and a truck on Highway 7, near the Sorek Interchange.
Rescue forces called to the scene pronounced the two dead - a boy about 15 years old and a young woman about 20 years old - and provided medical treatment to the injured, including three in serious condition and two additional injured in mild condition, who were evacuated to Assuta Hospital in Ashdod and Kaplan Hospital in Rehovot.
Two other victims were evacuated from the scene in minor condition.
Emergency medical technician from the MDA motorcycle unit Meir Avivi said: "We received a report of a serious car accident. We arrived at the scene quickly with ambulances and immediate response motorcycles. We saw several injured people lying down and began performing initial triage. We continue to treat and provide medical care and are scanning the scene to ensure that there are no additional casualties.".
ZAKA volunteers from the Shefelah region were called to the scene and are working to honor the deceased and collect the difficult findings.
Traffic investigators from the Shephelah region have opened an investigation into the fatal accident.
