The corruption case in the Histadrut is branching out: The one who has become a fairly central suspect in the case is Minister Miki Zohar, who has already been questioned twice - for about 20 hours in total - in the interrogation rooms of the National Fraud Investigation Unit.
Channel 12 revealed that the minister is also suspected of personal corruption offenses.
The charges against Minister Zohar are bribery, fraud, and breach of trust - and the main thing he is being investigated for, according to the report, is the connection with the insurance agent Gava and the possibility that he helped him through his position to obtain insurance and new clients.
One of the things that came up in the interrogation rooms was that very frequently, the minister would come with insurance agent Gabbay to raise a toast to the workers' committees of public bodies, and in fact he would land Gabbay there.
The apparent payoff - a few more votes for the Likud primaries and a strengthening of the minister's status in the party.
