Thousands accompanied the young man Avraham Yeshayahu Spiegel, a 17-year-old student at the Tiprah Yeshiva, last night, whose body was found 9 days later on the beach opposite Herzliya after drowning at Sanz Beach in Netanya last Friday.
The funeral procession, which left the family home on Rabbi Kahneman Street in the Ramat Shlomo neighborhood of Jerusalem, began with the recitation of Psalms.
The first to give eulogies was the bereaved father, the eminent Rabbi Shlomo Spiegel, head of the Spiegel group in the Beit Israel neighborhood of Jerusalem, who justified the judgment against him: "The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away, blessed be the name of the Lord. It is written that the Holy One, blessed be He, is happy and rejoices when a pure and righteous soul comes to Him, but the works of my hands are drowning in the sea and you sing songs? How can one rejoice? But with the Holy One, blessed be He, there is also joy, but on the other hand, there is also 'my soul weeps in secret places,' and with the Holy One, blessed be He, this is not a contradiction.
""Everyone tells me he's a public sacrifice, I say he's a cow of the soil, he purifies everyone, he was good to everyone. We were hit twice. One plus one is much more than two. When a person who loves you hits you, it hurts much more. God gave us a beautiful family, everything went like honey, on water at ease; to receive such a hit and more than twice - it's woe to us because we were hit twice, and may God give us 'consolation, my people' twice as much.".
The father then asked that there be a blessing for him and his mother: "That we may raise the family to glory and hold the yeshiva. May there be a blessing for all the dear volunteers who took the trouble to look for you, people who put in the effort to find you.".
The Gaon Rabbi Aviezer Piltz, Rosh Yeshiva Tifrah, eulogized: "The voice of God in power, the voice of God in majesty, the voice of God breaks cedars. Cedars are the young men Issachar Dov and Avraham Yeshayahu who were planted in the house of God, in the courts of our God they will flourish - the Blessed One broke the cedars in an unnatural way.".
""All the yeshiva students are depressed and see the mourning on them. Avraham Yeshayahu was special in the joy of life - a life of Torah, a life of prayer and a life of love for friends.".
The yeshiva head mentioned the difficult situation in the Torah world: "We all need to wake up to the draft decree. The tears of Rabbi Isser Zalman and Rabbi Zvi Pesach Frank and Rabbi Metzvin who went to the head of government at the time to grant exemption to yeshiva students and they succeeded - apparently we need more rights so that this continues.".
The gaon Rabbi Yisrael Gans, who studied with the deceased in the habrava, noted that he was a descendant of Aliyah.

The Gaon Rabbi Yehoshua Mishkovsky, Rosh Yeshiva 'Imrei Moshe' where my late father studied in a small yeshiva, quoted the verse in the Psalms: "'Your path is in the sea, and your path in many waters, and your footsteps are not known.' Last year at this time I asked you: Where do you want to go to a large yeshiva? You told me: I want to go to Teferach. I asked you why, what is special about Teferach? And you told me: 'Whoever wants to be wise, I want a place that is detached from this world, I want to transcend.'.
""He was exalted in character and his heart was lifted up in the ways of God. He was no longer a young man. He was exalted above everyone else, in his concepts, knowledge, and aspirations.".
At the end of the eulogy, the funeral procession left for Mount Hamunehot, where he was buried next to his brother Issachar Dov, the late.
