The full data:

Import of vehicles

- In August 2026, imports were recorded at a volume of 27,755 vehicles (private) compared to 18,381 in August 2025, an increase of 51.01%.

- Commercial vehicle imports totaled 1,280 vehicles compared to 797 in August 2025, an increase of 67.41%3T.

- The sharp increase is due to high imports of passenger and commercial vehicles in August 2026, likely due to a low dollar exchange rate. In addition, vehicle imports in August 2025 were lower than usual.

- In the period January-August 2026, vehicle imports amounted to 201,674 vehicles compared to 136,702 vehicles in the same period last year, an increase of 47.5%. The increase is explained on the one hand by relatively high imports in the months February-June 2026 and August 2026 due to a low dollar exchange rate. On the other hand, the low imports in January-August 2025 resulted from the massive advance of vehicle imports in December 2024, on the eve of an increase in the purchase tax on electric vehicles and an update of the green taxation formula and green taxation outline in January 2025. It should be noted that in December 2025, vehicle imports were also advanced on the eve of an increase in the purchase tax on electric vehicles, but to a small extent.

- Trend data indicates an increase in passenger vehicle imports from the second half of 2025.
