During an investigation opened on suspicion of kidnapping: A 10-year-old boy, a resident of Petah Tikva, was located overnight (Monday), around 1:00 AM, in Bnei Brak after he had been missing from his home since the evening.

A 20-year-old Jerusalem resident was located along with the child, who was arrested and later imprisoned.

Upon receiving the report of the child's absence, police officers at the Petah Tikva station began a search, and various operations were carried out, including the use of technological means.

Following posts on social media, an alert woman spotted the child riding a scooter with the young man in the area of Kahneman and Jabotinsky Streets. She called the police and followed them to Ezra Street at the corner of Hashomer, where police arrived, detained the young man - and the two were brought to the Petah Tikva station.

The station's investigators have launched an investigation into the incident with the aim of shedding light on the circumstances of the incident.

At this stage, no further details have been provided about the relationship between the child and the suspect or the circumstances of their arrival in Bnei Brak.

At the end of his interrogation, the suspect was imprisoned.

The police are expected to bring him to court today for a hearing in accordance with the needs of the investigation.

The child's mother said in a conversation with the Ynet website: "We didn't get home until 3:00 AM. At first the child didn't understand, he said he felt sorry for him and that he was poor. Only now does he understand the magnitude of the incident.".

She told how it all started: "The child was in the playground playing with friends. The young man came up to them, threatened them to bring him money, and the children got scared and ran away. There was one child who let him make a phone call, after which he deleted it. Then he asked to see how to get to Geha Junction or Bnei Brak.".

According to her, "Of all the children, my son, who felt sorry for him, stayed there in the yard and he started manipulating him. He told him that they had thrown him out of the house and that he had no money. He used him to collect alms, someone brought them a hundred shekels - and then he put him on the bus to Bnei Brak.".

She told how her son was finally located, from the suspect's phone location: "We managed to reach the guy, there was a report that they were seen in Bnei Brak.".

She shared her complex feelings after the incident: "I'm terribly confused, I still can't digest what happened there. When I posted the picture in the building's group, there was a huge outpouring of support from the entire neighborhood, and parents of children who were with him on the field started calling. I know my child, if he was in the neighborhood, he would have returned earlier. I realized he wasn't there - and that's when the pressure started.".

In the morning, the mother said: "Thank you very much everyone! The beautiful people of Israel. I'm updating you that we are at the station investigating. The guy was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping!! He bribed the child with a 'gold' chain, bought him a pizza and convinced him to try smoking! And they were caught in Bnei Brak following a report!! Keep an eye on the children. Keep an eye on them. I learned my lesson. Thanks again to everyone.".

[24
178,29120,1116,734
post-1063006","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-24","tag-178","tag-29120","tag-1116","tag-734
