Three Force 100 fighters filed a lawsuit in the Jerusalem District Court today (Monday) for 18 million shekels against a long list of officials in the Military Prosecutor's Office, the State Prosecutor's Office, and the law enforcement system - as well as against media figure Guy Peleg and Hadashot 12.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a lawsuit filed by Attorney Menashe Yado of Mehonu, and by attorneys Dr. Itman Meron and Elhanan Meron, from the office of Attorney Meron Privas Ben Zion, the fighters demand huge compensation for a series of wrongs they claim were inflicted upon them throughout the affair, including false suspicion, false arrest, violation of privacy, defamation, unlawful indictment, and cover-up of the leak investigation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The lawsuit joins an initial civil proceeding that was conducted in the Magistrate's Court against journalist Guy Peleg and the Channel 12 news company, but now, due to the size of the amount and the allegations raised, the proceeding is being moved to the District Court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The new lawsuit lists former MAG Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi, Matan Solomesh, Lior Ayish, the spokesperson for the Military Prosecutor's Office, the Military Police, the IDF, Guy Peleg and the Israel News Agency, as well as Guy Goffman, Legal Advisor to the Government Gali Baharav-Miara, State Attorney Amit Isman, Gal Asael, Alon Altman, the State Attorney's Office, the Israel Police and the State of Israel. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The total amount listed in the lawsuit is 18 million shekels. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The lawsuit details a series of heads of damages, including 1.5 million NIS for false suspicion of a serious sexual offense, 450,000 NIS for false arrest of 15 days, 3 million NIS for defamation, 1 million NIS for a false indictment, and 500,000 NIS for covering up the leak investigation, along with other heads of damages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The lawsuit refers to the chain of events that the fighters claim began with the suspicions raised against them and their publicized arrest, continued with the leaking of investigation materials and the criminal proceedings, and later also touched on the handling of the investigation into the leak. The plaintiffs claim that for months no effective investigation was opened into the leak and that the examination that was conducted afterwards could not, they claim, have revealed the full picture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Another claim raised in the lawsuit concerns the conduct before the Supreme Court. According to the plaintiffs, misleading representations were presented to the High Court regarding the leak and the extent of exposure to the substances, and defendants, including senior officials in the Attorney General's Office and the law enforcement system, allegedly covered up those behind the leak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The fighters claim that as a result of this conduct, they suffered a legal torture that lasted from the leak of the investigation materials on August 6, 2024, until the indictment was dropped on March 12, 2026. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
They claim that State Attorney Amit Isman and other officials who were responsible for handling the case did not order for months to open a criminal investigation to locate the leakers and clarify the circumstances of the transfer of the materials to the media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The lawsuit also alleges the manner in which the criminal proceedings against the fighters were conducted. It is alleged that the MAG and other officials held a hearing following the defense attorneys' request and rejected their claims regarding the leak, with the plaintiffs claiming that this was done in the face of a serious conflict of interest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The indictment was subsequently filed, which the fighters claim was fundamentally flawed. The prosecutors point to the decision of the current MAG, Itay Ofir, to cancel the indictment after a rehearing and acceptance of the defense's arguments, and see this as an indication of their claim of flaws in the original procedure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Attorney Menashe Yado of Mhonenu defined the procedure as "a complex lawsuit against powerful elements.". <\/p>\n\n\n\n
